Squad swimming is a great way to develop lifelong skills, refine technique and most importantly be safe and have fun in the water. Rackley Squad Programs caters for all abilities and the focus is on developing each swimmer to reach their potential and love of the sport. Training sessions will provide swimmers with the skills and stamina needed to set their sights on competing at their chosen level be it Local, School, Club or Masters.

OUR COACHES

At Rackley Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre Coach Charles Wan brings his and passion for advancing swimmer from LTS to lifelong and competitive swimming to the pool deck. The Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre program specialises in the Junior development of Swimmers and also Swim fitness programs for High school and Adult Swimmers.

JOIN THE CLUB!

At Rackley Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre we encourage Squad swimmers to join the swim club (Rackley Swim Team) which enables swimmers to swim at our regular swim club nights during the summer season as well as competing at local, Brisbane, Queensland and National Swim meets. Adult swimmers can join the Rackley Masters swim team.

Squads for all levels


Junior Squad
Fun & safety is the primary objective of all Junior swimming, coincidentally it is the reason we ‘learn to swim’ initially. Junior Squad is designed for children predominately 6 years and older and is targeted at swimmers that have completed all the skills associated with learning to swim lessons. Junior Squad’s focus is 1-2 key concepts every session, and swimmers within each individual session will be allocated to the lane & group that provides the optimal learning environment.
JUNIOR – 2-3 sessions per week.
Bronze Squad
The bronze squad is the entry group into our performance-focused squads. Building upon the fundamental swimming skills and develop your child’s ability to learn how to train and help them develop a growth mindset and develop a love for the sport. Individual swimmers will be introduced to a variety of racing opportunities as they continue to master the four competitive strokes and gain greater proficiency in turns, starts and finishes. This is achieved by introducing more advanced drills and training techniques.

BRONZE – 5–6 sessions per week
*Equipment required – flippers, paddles, pull buoy & kickboard.
Senior Squad
Senior squad is designed for senior multi-sport athletes. It targets the specific endurance and speed requirements of the athlete’s primary sport and event.  Sessions are designed to help swimmers develop skills & physical conditioning specifically for competitive sports. There is no minimum number of training sessions, however, if swimmers wish to compete at a competitive school level or higher, they are encouraged to complete a minimum of 2-3 sessions a week.
Adult/ Swimfit+ 
Our Adult Squad sessions are designed to improve performance and technique. This level is for those who are looking to improve their swimming technique and fitness. It is suitable for a wide variety of people, from beginners through to competitive swimmers training for Masters, Triathlon and/or Ocean swimming.

Note*
The monthly rates are calculated based on an annual amount and take into account variances for swimmers who will not attend during Squad Break/family holiday periods. If your swimmer is having a break from the squad of more than 4 weeks please contact the centre manager to discuss putting membership on hold during the break.
